| ASAI plans towards the distant future; the envisaged
long and short term objectives,
while taking into consideration the available financial resources, are as follows:
I - Long Term Objectives

Assisting in the
process of qualitative and quantitative Human Resource Development in the
Arab states.

Contribute to
the enhancement of management and administrative performance of manpower
engaged in policy making and decision taking specially the civil society
institutions.

Encourage
scholarly endeavors and utilize the resources of graduates of ASAI programs
in the transfer of technology, democracy, freedom and diversity.

Strengthen
academic relations with US, European and International academic institutions
in the areas of graduate studies and research .

Assist in the
utilization of skilled human resources supported by ASAI schemes in the
development projects in the Arab States.

Widen the scope
of network for providing financial and in-kind support to ASAI programs and
projects. Develop of sustainable financial resources to ensure the continuity
of ASAI programs aiming at the human resources development in the Arab
States.
II
- Short Term Objectives
-
Facilitate
financial assistance, through interest-free loans, to qualified candidates
who are citizens of Arab States.

Provide grants for
Doctoral studies for Faculty Staff Members at Palestinian Universities to
improve academic standards

Monitor the
priority needs for fields of specialization required for present and future
technical, economic, social, educational and peace development in the Arab
States

Encourage
the utilization of graduates, who received financial aid from ASAI, to
return to their respective countries to effectively participate in the
development processes.

Support,
financially, training programs for decision and policy makers in
non-governmental organizations, public and private sectors to improve the
management performance standards

Apply for
grants announced by US and European governments in fields related to
educational development of higher academic institutions in the Arab States.

Strengthen
academic relations and exchanges between universities in United States of
America and Arab States.
